[dropcap size=small]A[/dropcap] principal oboist of the Ibycus Chamber Orchestra since the age of eighteen, Damrih began studying the oboe with Mr.Michael Hager from Germany. Later on he studied with Mr. Sampao Tri-udom at Chulalongkorn University, with Ms. Rhonda May at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and Mr. Peter Cooper, the principal oboist of Colorado Symphony Orchestra at Asian Youth Orchestra Summer Camp. Damrih also received the full schorlarship to study with Mr. John J. Dee, the principal oboist of the Florida Philharmonic Orcheatra, at the University of Miami and the Harid Conservatory. He studied music theory with Dr.Thomas McKinley and Dr. Paul Wilson, composition with Mr. Bruce Gaston and conducting with Mr. Thomas Sleeper.
Damrih is also active as a composer, music arranger and conductor. The conducting performances are included musical ensembles such as New Siam Wind Orchestra, Metropole Stage Orchestra, Bangkok Symphony Orchestra and Dreambox Stage Orchestra@MTheatre and etc. He also appears as a guest conductor for the musical theatre: The Kiss of the Spider Woman (Theatre 28 Production) in 2001, Koogum the musical (Dreambox Production) in 2005, incidental music for the Chinese melodrama The Story of Butterfly Lovers in 2006, Man of La Mancha at Ratchadalai Theatre (Co-production of Theatre 28 and Scenario) in June 2008, Kurt Weil: The Three Penny Opera (Nuni Production) in 2009, and his latest success, Mae Nak, the Musical producedby Dreambox in 2008.
As a very active music educator, Damrih had served as an Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Music, Silpakorn University, and the director of music honors program at Wat Suthiwararan High School and Mater Dei School.
At a present, he has served as the Dean of Music at Silpakorn University Faculty of Music.
